d'ears suncatchers are not stained glass, instead we are using 1/8" thick acrylic which is laser cut and then printed with a high-end UV printer.  This results in a more durable and lighter product.  This process also allows for much more detailed and colorful images which are also transparent.  So, while they are not stained glass in many ways, they are better.
